Simple Mutter Mutter (green peas) Paneer

Mutter Paneer Butter Masala is a recipe a North Indian food in which soft paneer cubes are mixed in a cream rich tomato based gravy which is all time favourite for paneer lovers. Matar Paneer is a simple Indian main course recipe prepared with green peas and cottage cheese that are cooked in a rich tomato based curry. Peas paneer sabji goes well with roti and naan. Mattar paneer has a slightly sweet and spicy taste so all kids love it.

Ingredients for Simple Mutter (green peas) Paneer

  • 1 cup fresh mutter (green peas)
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp garlic
  • 1 tbsp cashew
  • 1 tsp fresh cream
  • 1/2 green chilli chopped
  • 2 tomato puree
  • 1 carrot diced in cubes
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp chopped coriander
  • 2 tsp Oil
  • Salt
  • Water
  • cumin seeds
  • 1 pinch Asafoetida (hing)
  • turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder

How to make Mutter (green peas) Paneer

  • Boil Carrot cubes and Mutter (green peas and keep aside)
  • Dissolve cashew in milk for 10 min
  • Get it mixed into a soft paste and keep aside
  • Mix onion, ginger, garlic, green chilli into fine paste and keep aside
  • In a pan, take oil, add cumin seeds, once it starts bubbling out of pan, add hing.
  • Add onion ginger garlic and green chilli paste and stir till it raw smell goes off
  • Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and then add tomato puree.
  • Add pav bhaji masala.
  • Let the puree mix well and get the flavours of masala, stir till 1 min.
  • Now add the cashew paste and fresh cream as per quantity mentioned above.
  • Bring to boil and keep stirring till gravy get a bit thick.
  • Now add the vegetables
  • Sprinkle corriander.
  • Serve with roti or naan.
