Chinese veg Samosa Recipe


  • Mix the flour, salt, ghee and salt togather to make a soft dough (add more water as needed).
  • knead the dough for about 1 to 2 minutes to make the dough smooth and pliable.
  • Set the dough aside and cover it with damp cloth. Let the dough sit for at least 15 minutes.

For Samosa Filling :

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp chopped ginger (adrak)
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic (lehsun)
  • 3/4 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup grated carrot
  • 2 tbsp french beans , diced in small pieces
  • 2 tbsp green spring onions , white diced in small pieces
  • 1/2 tsp ajinomoto (optional)
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper powder
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 cup boiled noodles

Method For the Samosa stuffing

  • Heat oil in a pan add the ginger and garlic and saute for few minutes.
  • Add the cabbage, carrot, french beans and spring onions and saute for 5 minute on slow flame.
  • Add ajinomoto, soya sauce, chilly vinegar, black pepper powder, salt and sugar mix well.
  • Add the noodles and mix it gradually and cook it for a minute.Remove from the flame.
  • Divide the mixture into 12 equal portions and keep aside.

Method for making samosa patti

  • Divide the dough into 6 equal portions.
  • Make round shape chapatis of the dough
  • Divide each chapati into three long pieces and make a cone of each strip.
  • Stuff a cone with a portion of the prepared filling.
  • Seal the edges carefully with the help of the flour-water paste.
  • Repeat the steps for making more samosas.
  • Heat the oil in kadhai and deep-fry a few samosas at a timr on a medium flame till they turn crisp and golden brown in colour from all the sides.
  • Drain on an absorbent paper and serve hot with schezwan chutney or tomato sauce
